Bill is a life long resident of the village and he attended the village grammar school.  After graduation from high school,  Bill left the village for four years to serve in the U.S. Navy Seabees in Vietnam, Alaska and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged from the Navy and is currently a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, the Vietnam Veterans of America and is a Life Member of the Disabled Americans Veterans and The American Legion. 

Bill has served as a volunteer with the Elmsford Volunteer Fire Department for 33 years and is a Life Member of the Live Oak Engine Company.  He has served as Chief of the Elmsford Fire Department, President of the Live Oak Engine Company, member of the Board of Directors of the Live Oak Engine Company and Councilman with the Elmsford Fire Department.  Over the past thirty years, he has also served the village in a number of other volunteer capacities including the Traffic and Safety Committee, the Board of Electrical Control, the Planning Board, the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.

As a Village Trustee, Bill is working to improve the Village's recognition of our local heroes.  During 2000, as Trustee to Westhab, he acquired the county's commitment to replace the fence behind Westhab to improve the quality of life for the residents of both the Westhab facility and the surrounding neighbors.  As Board Recycling Coordinator in 2000, Bill turned around a deteriorating program that had declined 27% in 1999 and increased the Village's recycling amounts by 10%.

Bill is presently employed as an electrician with F.A. Burchetta Electrical Contracting Co. and is a proud member of the Electricians Union #3.
